Villanova should move their furniture in Bubbleville and get some interior decorators.
Villanova’s men’s basketball game scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 2 vs. Saint Joseph’s at Finneran Pavilion will not take place as scheduled. Earlier today, Saint Joseph’s announced a 14-day pause in basketball activities due to a positive COVID-19 test within its Tier 1 personnel.
In conjunction with this news, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Gazelle Group today announced an additional matchup for the season-opening event known as “Bubbleville” featuring Villanova and the University of Hartford.
Villanova remained at the Mohegan Sun resort after Saturday night’s stunning 81-73 overtime loss to Virginia Tech instead of traveling back to campus Sunday as originally scheduled.
Tuesday’s game will be the Wildcats’ fourth in Connecticut since the team traveled here on Monday, Nov. 23. Villanova (2-1 overall) defeated Boston College 76-67 on Nov. 25 and Arizona State 83-74 on Thanksgiving night to earn the 2K Empire Classic championship. It then added a game against Virginia Tech when its scheduled game for Dec. 3 vs. Temple was scuttled in the wake of a 14-day pause in the Owls’ program.

This game replaces a previously scheduled Legends Classic Semifinal Game. An updated Legends Classic schedule will be announced in the near future.
The Bubbleville game schedule may continue to evolve in the coming days due to COVID-related circumstances beyond control.
