The Mets split a doubleheader in St. Louis thanks to some much-needed help from their reserves and bullpen. Backup catcher Tomas Nido hit a 2-run home run and reserves Kevin Pillar and Jonathan Villar contributed respectively with 2 runs batted in. Mets agree to deal with free agent Kevin Pillar
The Mets reportedly have reached an agreement Kevin Pillar on a one-year deal. The deal has yet to be confirmed by the Mets, it is pending a physical. Pillar is coming off a strong offensive 2020 campaign. The 32-year old hit .288 last season with six home runs in 54 games with 34 runs batted in.
