It’s didn’t take long for Seton Hall to find their groove against Yale.
Alexis Yetna scored a team-high 15 points to lead the Pirates to an impressive 80-44 blowout win, Sunday afternoon at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
Kadary Richmond added 13 points for Seton Hall (2-0). Myles Cale finished with 11 points and seven rebounds. Bryce Aiken added nine points.
Jared Rhoden saw his first action of the season and came off the bench. Rhoden, previously sidelined with an ankle injury, scored eight points on 3 of 8 shooting from the field.
Head coach Kevin Willard’s team raced out to a 15-2 lead and never looked back.
For Yale (2-1), it was a struggle all game to get their offense going against the Pirates. Jalen Gabbidon led the Bulldogs with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Yale was limited to just 24.2 percent from the field, on 15-for-62 shooting.
The Bulldogs were were putrid from deep, shooting just 13.3% from behind the 3-point line, on 4-for-30 shooting.
Looking ahead for Seton Hall
An impressive showing against Ivy-League favorite Yale will help prep the Pirates for their next test, this Tuesday night at Ann Arbor against Juwan Howard and his Michigan team.
