Seton Hall will have their hands full when Ivy-League favorite Yale visits Prudential Center, in Newark, NJ., this Sunday afternoon.
The Pirates will be looking to build off their 93-49 win over FDU, in Wednesday’s season opener.
Tyrese Samuel scored a career-high 19, Bryce Aiken went for 15 and Tray Jackson added 14.
The depth for Seton Hall was on full display with key player Jared Rhoden recovering from a sprained right ankle.
The status for Rhoden, a preseason All-Big East first-team pick, for Sunday is unknown.
“I think that’s what’s nice about this roster, is the flexibility of — where we couldn’t survive an injury last year — being able to survive an injury this year,” Seton Hall head coach Kevin Willard said.
Yale is a formidable challenge for Seton Hall.
The Bulldogs shot 54.2 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from 3-point range in their 91-71 victory over Massachusetts.
Seton Hall Player to Watch: Bryce Aiken
Aiken is a player to watch in this game due to his familiarity with Yale. While at Harvard, in seven games against Yale, Aiken averaged 21.6 points, including a 38-point burst in a 2019 Ivy League Tournament game.
