Rutgers, after a 5-5 overall start to their season, have won five of their last six games.
It’s that time of year on the college basketball calendar where everyone looks at the quadrant system.
Teams are beginning to position themselves for the stretch run to March Madness, including the Scarlet Knights.
Rutgers is set to host five Quad 1 opponents among its final seven home games. This is key because the Scarlet Knights are 3-0 this season at home.
A Quad 1 win is what teams push for to boost their resumes for the postseason. They’re five teams currently ahead of Rutgers in the Big Ten standings, Iowa (3-3 conference, 13-4 overall) isn’t one of them. A win over the Hawkeyes won’t come easy; but it’s also likely the lightest of the four remaining Quad 1 opponents, in this upcoming stretch.
If Rutgers is serious about their making a second consecutive appearance in the Big Dance, their push begins Wednesday night against Iowa.
