The Giants took another body blow to their season with losing safety Jabrill Peppers to injury.
Peppers suffered a torn ACL and high ankle sprain in the Giants’ win over the Carolina Panthers, this past Sunday. He went down clutching his knee at the end of a punt return against Carolina.
He’s the third co-captain to be ruled out for the season. The 26-year-old New Jersey native joins linebacker Blake Martinez and center Nick Gates as team leaders on the injured list.
It’s a disappointing ending to the season for Peppers, he’s on the final year of his contract and now has a strenuous rehab on his plate along with free agency.
Peppers was the key piece in the 2019 trade that sent Odell Beckham Jr. to the Browns.
For the Giants, it’s been one body blow after another to their season. Ironically, they lose Peppers during their defensive unit’s best performance of the year.
There’s little to no room to stay down about it, the Giants are back in prep mode for a Monday night matchup at the Kansas City Chiefs.
