The full 2020-2021 Fordham University men’s basketball schedule was released today. It features three televised Atlantic 10 contests and games with local rivals and Manhattan and St. John’s.
Fordham will play 13 of its 24 contests in the friendly confines of Rose Hill Gym in 2020-2021 and will make three appearances on national television during the Atlantic 10 season, two on the NBC Sports Network and one on the CBS Sports Network.
Due to New York State and New York City restrictions on mass gatherings, no fans will be allowed to attend any games at this time. All of last year’s season ticket holders will remain on hold until tickets are for sale again.
Follow Fordham athletics and the men’s basketball program on social media for information on how to follow along for home games via the Virtual Game Day Experience. In addition, all Atlantic 10 games not broadcast on national television, as well as all home non-conference games, will be streamed live on ESPN+. https://www.espn.com/espnplus/
The Rams open the 2020-2021 season, Fordham’s 118th varsity season, by hosting Iona College in the Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday, November 25.
For the seventh straight year, the Fordham men’s Atlantic 10 18-game schedule will consist of nine home and nine away contests, with the Rams facing five opponents in a home-and-home series. Sixth-year head coach Jeff Neubauer’s squad will face Davidson, Duquesne, George Washington, La Salle, and St. Bonaventure twice during the 2020-2021 season.
In addition to the home games with Davidson, Duquesne, George Washington, La Salle, and Massachusetts, the Rams will host Dayton, St. Bonaventure, Saint Joseph’s, and Saint Louis in the historic Rose Hill Gym.
Besides the return trips to Davidson, Duquesne, George Washington, La Salle, and Massachusetts, Fordham will play Atlantic 10 Conference road contests at George Mason, Rhode Island, Richmond, and VCU in 2020-2021.
The league also made adjustments to its traditional schedule model to factor in potential interruption from the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be at least nine conference games played in December, and each team will have two bye dates between Jan. 13 and Feb. 24, and the weekend of March 5-7 will be left open.
These measures provide windows for make-up dates and spreads the schedule out to accommodate any contest needing to be rescheduled.
The 2021 Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Championship will be played March 10-14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
