Chuba Ohams has been selected to play in the 2022 NABC – Reese’s Division I College All-Star Game it was announced today. The game will be played on Friday, April 1, at 4:30 p.m. at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans as part of the Reese’s Men’s Final Four Friday.
Ohams closed out the 2021-2022 season being named the 2022 Atlantic 10 Chris Daniels Most Improved Player as well as second team All-Atlantic 10 and to the Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team.
On the year, Ohams led the Atlantic 10 and ranks fifth in the NCAA in rebounding, averaging 11.6 rpg, and is fifth in the nation in defensive rebounds (8.73/game). He averaged 14.8 ppg and had a team-best 49 blocks. Ohams ranked 12th in the Atlantic 10 in scoring and seventh in blocked shots (1.63/game).
Ohams recorded a double-double in 21 games this year, a new school record. He surpassed the former mark of 19 set by Chris Gaston in 2009-1010. Ohams leads the Atlantic 10 and is fifth in the nation in double-doubles.
The Rams closed out the 2021-2022 season with a 16-16 overall record, 8-10 in the Atlantic 10. The 16 wins, a 14-win improvement from the previous year, are the most for a Fordham men’s team over the past six years while the eight conference wins are the most for the Rams over the past six years and tied for the most in past 15. Additionally, Fordham won a second round A-10 Championship game and reached the quarterfinals for the first time since 2007.
