Do your job and the rest will take care of itself.
That’s exactly what the Eagles did today. September showed us how talented the Eagles are on both sides of the football. October begins with them showing us how tough they are.
The Jaguars are a surprise team so far in the NFL, a win this week would’ve turned heads their way. When they leaped out to a 14-0 lead, it looked as if this just wasn’t going to be Philly’s day.
However, Hurts shook off a pick-six to start the game and showed his resiliency. Hurts threw for 204 yards, adding 38 rushing yards, with a rushing touchdown.
The Eagles grounded the Jaguars with a running game which featured Miles Sanders going off for 134 yards and two touchdowns.
The Eagles have 10 rushing touchdowns this season, the most by any team through four games since the 1995 Dallas Cowboys (11).
The Jaguars came into this game defense that was holding teams to a league-low 55 rushing yards per game. If opponents can’t stop their run game, it’s going to be a long day at the office.
Hurts, Sanders, and the Eagles offense did their jobs. How about the defense?
Five takeaways by the defense ultimately did in Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars. Cornerback James Bradberry picked off Lawrence in the third quarter, with Jacksonville trailing by six, this ultimately proved to be a key play in the game.
A resilient effort, in tough weather conditions at Lincoln Financial Field, featuring a strong run game and ball hawking defense.
