From NBA Academy Africa and The Winchendon (Ma) School, Keita is a rim protector with potential to become a defensive anchor for the Red Storm.
Early reviews on what Keita brings to the table have been impressive. The seven-footer caught the attention of St. John’s while watching him for two weekends with the NY Jayhawks in Kansas City and in Spartanburg, S.C.
Keita’s shot-blocking prowess helped secure an official visit to St. John’s, it didn’t take long after that for the youngster to make up his mind.
For head coach Mike Anderson, a commitment from Keita adds much-needed frontcourt depth for the roster.
Keita joins point guard Kolby King and shooting guard AJ Storr in St. John’s 2022 class.
