Locastro to the injured list highlights a handful of roster moves ahead of Sunday’s doubleheader against the Texas Rangers.
Prior to Sunday’s doubleheader against the Texas Rangers, the Yankees announced a handful of roster moves.
Locastro, the speedy reserve outfielder, is going on the injured list with a left latissimus dorsi (back) strain. The setback for Locastro comes at a time where he’s been proving his value to the team.
With a crowded outfield, Locastro has provided a spark off the bench for the Yankees this season as a late-inning defensive replacement. He’s also brought a much-needed speed element to the roster with four stolen bases. The Yankees have not provided a timeline for Locastro’s recovery.
Right-handed pitcher Ron Marianaccio has been recalled to take his place on the active roster. Outfielder Esteban Florial will be the team’s 27th man for today’s doubleheader.
