The Newark native will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Al-Amir Dawes is transferring to Seton Hall.
The 6-foot-2 point guard, and Newark native, averaged 11.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 33 games this past season at Clemson.
For new head coach Shaheen Holloway, the addition of Dawes brings more backcourt depth to his roster.
For the 2022-23 season, the Pirates will have returnees Kadary Richmond and Jamir Harris plus Louisville transfer Dre Davis. Moreover, incoming recruits Jaquan Sanders and Jaquan Harris are additional pieces for Holloway to integrate.
Dawes shot 39 percent from three-point range in each of the past two seasons for Clemson. He’s solid from the free-throw line and gets after it on defense.
Look for Dawes to step up for Holloway and become a fan favorite for the Pirates.
