Zach Wilson, the No. 2 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, started in 13 games last season. Four games were missed, however due to a knee injury.
With a shaky rookie season under his belt, Wilson has been putting in the work during the offseason.
He’s also racking up the frequent flyer miles.
Wilson has been traveling to workout with his receivers. He’s already made stops in Nashville to get reps in with Corey Davis and Miami where Braxton Berrios resides. Moreover, Wilson reportedly has a stop to Arizona scheduled where he’ll be doing the same with Elijah Moore.
Those are three of the top receivers on the depth chart for the Jets. Getting down improved timing and chemistry — on and off the field — will only help Wilson in his development.
“He’s willing to do whatever it takes,” Berrios said. “It’s easy to say that, but it’s another thing when you take the time out of your offseason training schedule to actually travel to different places. He’s doing everything to get everyone on the same page and making a real change next year.”
When it comes to situational awareness and drive to get better, Wilson is showing he has it. The end game, hopefully for the Jets, is it translates onto the field in September.
