Syracuse, with eight teams, ahead of them in the ACC Standings, need to get it going.
But no one needs to tell that to their Hall of Fame head coach Jim Boeheim. The man’s been on the job for for 44 years, he knows what sense of urgency means.
So, it came as no surprise Tuesday night to watch the Orange pick up a much-needed conference win by defeating Clemson, 91-78.
Buddy Boeheim and Joe Girard set the tone for a night of strong guard play which lifted Syracuse (9-9 overall, 3-4 ACC) to victory. The win was a nice bounce-back from Saturday night’s 76-71 loss at Florida State.
Their next game, Saturday at sixth-ranked Duke, will be a barometer for how ready they are for the uphill battle ahead. Five of their next seven games will be away from the Carrier Dome.
After starting their conference schedule losing three of their first four games, it’s go time for Syracuse.
