Fordham tipped off their Atlantic 10 schedule on a high note.
Josh Colon-Navarro sparked the Rams to a second-half comeback at La Salle, 69-61, Thursday night in Philadelphia. It was the conference opener for both teams.
Darius Quisenberry scored a team-high 19 points for Fordham (8-5), Chuba Ohams chipped in with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Colon-Navarro knocked down three of his five three’s in the second half. The 5-10 graduate student finished the night with 17 points, tying his career high, which he has done four times.
La Salle took a 37-26 lead with 18:32 left to play. Fordham chipped away, however, starting with an Antonio Daye Jr. three-pointer sparking a 13-1 run. The Rams, after taking the lead, stretched their advantage to 54-46 on a Quisenberry three-pointer with 8:06 remaining.
Clifton Moore scored a career-high 26 points and had five blocks for the Explorers (5-6).
18 Days between games for the Rams who last played on December 12 against Miami at the Barclays Center.
What’s Next for Fordham?
The Rams return to action and continue Atlantic 10 play on Sunday, January 2, as they host the University of Massachusetts Minutemen in the historic Rose Hill Gym at 2:00 p.m. • It will be the 50th meeting between Fordham and UMass on the hardwood.

The Fordham and La Salle coaching staffs are very familiar with each other. Fordham head coach Kyle Neptune and La Salle head coach Ashley Howard served as assistant coaches at Villanova while Fordham associate head coach Keith Urgo was an assistant for La Salle assistant coach Pat Chambers when Chambers was head coach at Penn State. Neptune, Urgo, and Chambers also served together at Villanova.
• The game was just one of two Atlantic 10 games played on Thursday night (four games were postponed) with the visiting team win both games.
