The Jets activated Ashtyn Davis off the physically unable to perform list (PUP).
Davis was recovering from a foot injury sustained late in the 2020 season. This forced the second-year safety to miss spring workouts, training camp, and the preseason.
With the Jets now preparing for the start of the regular season, head coach Robert Saleh is moving with a “day by day” approach on ramping up football activities for him.
Davis is an integral piece to the depth in the Jets’ secondary likely as a backup behind Marcus Maye and Lamarcus Jones. That’s if he’s ready to play.
Last season, Davis recorded 36 tackles and one fumble recovery. He was a third-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and saw action in 10 games, six of them as a starter.
